WWPD: Using Private Microsite to Enhance School Clinics

MSPP is always interested in learning about how our partners use PrepMod features in innovative ways to enhance their day-to-day processes.

This quarter, we talked to Maria Carr from the Carroll County Health Department in Maryland to highlight how our Private Microsite feature has helped them run school clinics more efficiently.

Q: How have you been using Private Microsites?

A: We’ve been using Private Microsites for our school located vaccination clinics. Our private Microsites are created at the Organization level titled “Carroll County Health Department SLV” SLV meaning school located vaccination clinic. We’ve hosted the school venues holding clinics under the organization so that when a Private Microsite is shared, it makes it easier for parents and registrants to find the clinic they are looking for since only schools holding clinics appear.  We also don’t have to worry about people from all over the state of Maryland trying to register their child because these clinics occur in school. It’s also been helpful in data reporting.

Q: How exactly has it made running data reports easier?

A: If I wanted to run a report on how many children were vaccinated form clinics listed under that private microsite, I can go to Customized Reports and under the Organization I can click “Carroll County Health Department SLV”. From there only the mapped school clinics will appear under the venue drop down, and I know I’m just getting data from those specific school vaccination clinics.

Q: What do you find most beneficial about this feature?

A: Because the microsites are private, it allows us to have the flexibility to create a clinic for one or two children if necessary. We’ll send the link to the child’s parent and they can then complete the registration process in a matter of minutes, allowing the school nurse to vaccinate that child. Having the ability to utilize the system in a very specialized way is very beneficial in making things efficient.
