Why I PrepMod: Providing Services to Remote Areas in Washington State

PrepMod prides itself on being a versatile system that helps the Public Health community provide services to those who need it the most. In this section, we highlight how PrepMod has helped our partners serve their community in a more efficient manner.

This quarter we feature why Washington State PrepMods.

Washington has a large population of folks living in remote areas of the state. MaryNell Holden, PrepMod Support Team for Washington State Department of Health said that before PrepMod, onboarding for IIS or EMR was too complicated, and often folks living in these areas were limited to the services they could receive. Now, however, we can onboard non-traditional providers and connect to IIS and EMR systems with ease,  allowing us to deliver adequate services to those who need it the most.

MaryNell said, "One of our providers is a small family pharmacy located in an urban area where trust in the usual healthcare providers was not as strong. This family pharmacy developed a lot of cred in the community and was very happy to be able to provide vaccines more efficiently. Another one of our rural providers used PrepMod to run a very successful mass vaccination site at a car dealership."

To highlight how PrepMod has benefitted their community Marynell has been creating dashboards in excel and offering them to providers so they can illustrate to their leaders how PrepMod has allowed them to reach further into communities and reach the underserved more than they were before. Washington state looks forward to continuing their partnership with Multi-State Partnership for prevention and serving their community in a more efficient manner.
