How Do You PrepMod? : Monoclonal Antibody Clinics

We are grateful to the partners who rely on PrepMod to help meet current and emerging public health needs.  In this column, we highlight individuals and organizations that have expanded their use of PrepMod in innovative ways. The ingenuity called for during the pandemic response has resulted in a more powerful, versatile system that is capable of carrying our users through this pandemic and beyond. In this column “PrepMod” is a verb.

This quarter, we ask PMEnterprise partner, Colorado: “How do you PrepMod?”

The PrepMod system can be utilized for much more than COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Recently, the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment implemented the addition of Monoclonal Antibody type clinics to their PrepMod instance and has run a total of 1485 of these clinics serving 6011 people since November, 2021

Andrea Elmquist, DCPHR Technology Branch Director for the State of Colorado said many of the Colorado resources running vaccination clinics were also allocated to providing Monoclonal therapies. After learning that Monoclonal therapy services would be delivered through clinics, the Colorado team needed a solution that would allow for Monoclonal therapy public registration and clinic documentation. Since the staff was already familiar with PrepMod, it made sense to stick with the tool and interface they knew.

Colorado staff harnessed PrepMod to fill this need by using “Monoclonal” in the title of the clinics they created so the public could find their intended clinic type. At the same time, MSPP worked on developing the permanent solution of tagging clinics as Monoclonal and adding a Monoclonal clinic type search to the public-facing Colorado PrepMod clinic search page making the registration process simpler for the public.

We were excited to creatively solve this need for the State of Colorado and are glad to help our customers vision and achieve the most from applying PrepMod in special situations and new approaches.  Please speak with your account manager if you have specific needs and want to know how PrepMod could help.
